Obituary

Derrick James Beloungea; age 74 of Metamora passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026. Beloved husband of Dianne for 48 years; loving father of Aaron (Stacey) Beloungea, Clint (fiancé Rachael Danielak) Beloungea, and Brad (Amanda) Beloungea; proud pappy of Lucas, Rocco, Hannah, Alayna, Griffin, Travis, Henry, Louis, Claire, William, Benjamin and Evelyn; dear brother of Jolene (late John) Alvaro, Zona (Donald) Walton, Norval (Kris) Beloungea and the late Cleat Beloungea; son-in-law of Melba O’Brien. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Derrick was born to Wilbert and Betty Beloungea in Manistique, Michigan. His love for the natural beauty of the Upper Peninsula was later shared with his family on many vacations, both in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter, enjoying the clean, fresh, crisp air of the UP.

Derrick participated in an annual guys-only Upper Peninsular fishing trip each year in May. As his sons grew up they joined him and now the grandsons are also included as they graduate from high school.

Derrick was the owner of Oakland Well & Pump. He enjoyed serving his clients and building long-lasting relationships with many in the community. He also enjoyed being a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church Community in Lake Orion.

Derrick lived for his family, proudly attending their sports activities, often several each week. He was a wonderful man, very generous, a kind and loving person and he will be missed by those lives he touched over the years.

Burial will be in the Upper Peninsula at a future date.
